Four Artists, Four Perspectives on Jerusalem

Jerusalem is a city that cannot be captured in a single view.

In LAYERS OF VISIONS, four artists encounter Jerusalem through distinctly different artistic languages, offering four ways of seeing a city that is at once a physical place, a memory, a material presence and an image.

Sara Weizman looks closely at Jerusalem, drawing us into its streets, houses, stone and vegetation through detailed figurative painting rich in atmosphere.

Olga Vayshbein moves away from a conventional depiction of the city, bringing together architecture, the human figure and fluid fields of color. Her Jerusalem exists somewhere between observation and imagination, between what is seen and what remains in memory.

Patricia Abramovich takes the city further into abstraction. Through dense layers of color, movement and texture, Jerusalem emerges without being literally described. Earth tones, gold, orange and white form an emotional cartography in which fragments seem to appear, disappear and reassemble.

Taly Eichenwald Dvir introduces a material and three dimensional perspective. Her ceramic works offer a contemporary interpretation of colors, materials and associations connected with Jerusalem, extending the exhibition beyond the painted image.

Between the recognizable and the abstract, stone and color, memory and material, LAYERS OF VISIONS does not attempt to define a single Jerusalem.

Instead, it invites us to discover how profoundly one city can change when seen through four different visions.
